Sakura Tree - Set

Description

These bookmarks show a dark, gnarled cherry tree full of white and pink blossoms. The branches run into the corners, and loose petals drift down between them. The background is light, in mint and white, so the dark trunk and the pink flowers stand out well.

Sakura and hanami

Sakura is the Japanese word for the blossom of ornamental cherry trees. In Japan it is an old tradition to gather under the flowering trees in spring and look at the blossom; this is called hanami. The flowering lasts only a short time, which is exactly why it is celebrated so much.

Who it is for

A set for readers who love Japanese art or botanical drawings. Because it is a set, you can use one yourself and give one away.
