Vase for dried flowers: how to choose shape and height

Looking for a vase for dried flowers? Dried flowers look their best in a vase with a calm, matt appearance. Our 3D-printed vases have exactly that: a matt texture with visible layers and warm tones that let the soft colours of a dried bouquet speak, rather than competing with them.

The nice thing about dried flowers is that they need no water. You simply place your dried bouquet in the vase as it is and forget about it: no water to change, no upkeep.

Narrow or wide neck?

A narrow neck suits a few loose stems or plumes. A round shape with a wide opening asks for a full bouquet. And if the vase itself has a pronounced texture, it can simply stay empty: the print lines tell the story.

A vase for one branch or a few

For a single dry branch the Shizu is lovely. A few dry branches go in the Echo Vase, 16.5 cm tall, on a windowsill or bedside table.

A vase for a dried bouquet

A small dried bouquet looks good in the Faro or the Facet, both 20 cm tall, or in the Evora (20 cm in white, 25 cm in black with gold) on a sideboard or dressing table. The Vase with Legs is ideal for dried bouquets, and the openwork Perpetuo goes on the coffee table with a dried bouquet.

How tall should a vase for dried flowers be?

A common rule of thumb: the vase is roughly a third to half the height of the whole bouquet. So measure your bouquet first and work back to the vase.

The Pinn comes in 25, 30 or 32 cm tall, the Aveiro in 30 or 32 cm, and the Vellis is 30 cm. For a small bouquet on a table or shelf, a vase 20 cm tall is a handy size, like the Faro.

A vase for pampas grass

Tall plumes go in a tall, slender vase such as the Aveiro, Pinn or Vellis; through the narrow opening of the Pinn a single plume fits better than a full bunch. Short pampas or a loose bouquet looks good in a round vase, such as the Vase with Legs.

Which colour suits dried flowers?

Colours in the shop include white, black, beige, terracotta, sand, olive green and brown. Beige, sand and terracotta stay close to a bouquet in natural tones; white and black make it stand out instead. The product page shows which colours you can choose for each model.

And if you do want fresh flowers?

Then place a glass tube in the vase and fill only that. Loose water does not belong in it, because the layers of a print never close completely.

Ready-made: vases as a set

Rather not combine things yourself? The Dried Flower Styling Set brings the Vareon Vase and the Pora Vase together, two shapes that complement each other. Together you pay less than when you order them separately. Put them on your cabinet or windowsill with dried flowers or pampas grass.

The Portuguese Design Duo, with the Odemira Vase and the Sintra Vase, is also intended for dried flowers and pampas grass; there you choose a colour for each vase. The Premium Vase Duo, with the Guarda Vase and the Sintra Vase, can be filled with dried flowers or a nice branch, or placed side by side empty.
