Bamboo - Deluxe Wooden Series

Description

This bookmark belongs to the Deluxe Wooden Series: bookmarks with a background that looks like wood grain. On the Bamboo, that background is dark blue. Bamboo stems with narrow leaves stand on it in relief, and halfway along there is an open flower rosette through which you can see the page underneath.

The tassel

At the top hangs a blue tassel with a bronze coloured bead. It sticks out above your book, so you find your place without leafing through, even when the book stands upright on the shelf.

About bamboo

Bamboo looks like wood, but botanically it is a grass. The stems are hollow and divided into sections by nodes, and the narrow leaves grow in fans on the side shoots. In East Asia, bamboo has been a favourite motif in painting and drawing for centuries.
